    Editor’s Note

    This issue covers the Quarter 1 of 2026. The publication of Volume 16 of the DBA Africa Management Review builds on the foundation established in Volume 15, which underscored the importance of research, innovation, and enterprise adaptability in enhancing organizational performance. Volume 16 highlights the importance of strengthening enterprise resilience, technological integration, and strategic foresight. 

    As African organizations navigate an increasingly complex and dynamic business environment, the need for strategic agility, innovation capability, and evidence-based management has become more critical than ever. The business landscape continues to be shaped by digital transformation, the growing adoption of emerging technologies, economic uncertainty, and evolving competitive pressures. These trends are redefining how organizations operate, compete, and create value. While digital technologies present significant opportunities for improving efficiency and expanding markets, they also demand new leadership capabilities, organizational readiness, and strategic alignment. For African enterprises, sustainable competitiveness will increasingly depend on their ability to leverage knowledge, innovation, and adaptive leadership to respond effectively to environmental changes. The DBA Africa Management Review remains committed to advancing context-relevant management scholarship that informs practice, supports enterprise transformation, and contributes to Africa’s sustainable economic and organizational development in a rapidly evolving global environment.

    The DBA Africa Management Review is a quarterly business and management journal of the Department of Business Administration of the Faculty of Business and Management Sciences of the University of Nairobi, Kenya. It is published under ISSN-2224-2023 as an Open Acess (OA) Journal published in English and reviewed through a double blinded/peer reviewed process.  We invite scholarly articles that are thought provoking yet interesting articles whose target audience covers practitioners, scholars and policy makers. Manuscripts will be accepted and published on a rolling basis. We encourage manuscripts in the following thematic areas:-

  • DBA Africa Management Review - Special Edition

    Editor’s Note

    This Special Issue (Volume 15 Issue No.1) is dedicated to the the 10th DBA-Africa Management Review Annual International Conference, 2025 which was held in hybrid format on the 22nd October 2025 as part of the University of Nairobi (UoN) Annual Research Week Conferences.

    This conference was made a reality through close collaboration with the DBA-AMR (Africa Management Review) Journal which is currently on its 15th Edition and year of publication. The Conference continues to be held under the banner of the University of Nairobi (UoN) Annual Conference Week. The Theme of this year’s 10th DBA Africa Management Review Annual International Conference was “Upscaling Research, Innovation, and Enterprise Development,” and reflected our commitment to advancing knowledge, fostering creativity, and supporting enterprise as a pathway to Africa’s sustainable development.

    This year the Conference attracted over 78 registered participants and a total of 28 oral conference papers were presented. This included four keynote speakers who presented on areas that were of contemporary interest. This Conference is a significant milestone because it provides a platform for us to showcase our research, share innovations, and engage in critical dialogue on how to translate ideas into meaningful impact. For our students and young scholars – who formed more than 76% of the Conference participants, it was also a moment to be inspired by seeing how academic work can transform societies, receive real-time feedback and open up new opportunities.

    The ultimate goal of the DBA-AMR Annual Conferences is provide a platform evidencing that research is no longer a luxury but rather, a powerful tool that cuts across all facets of life - be it in academia, government, corporates or the private sector. The 15th Special Issue of the DBA-AMR Journal,  as a way of expanding the reach of other scholars, practitioners and students that may have missed out in the conferences has provided a platform to share the “Conference Programme and Book of Astracts” for the papers that were presented. Subsequently, we look forward to publishing a limited number of outstanding papers that will meet the journal’s requirement in the near future.

    Editor’s Note

    This Special Issue (Volume 14 Issue No.2) is dedicated to honouring the 9 th DBA-AMR
    (Africa Management Review) Annual International Conference, 2024 which was held
    virually on the 29 th October, 2024 as part of the University of Nairobi (UoN) Annual
    Research week Conference.

    This was been made a reality through close conjunction of DBA-AMR (Africa Management
    Review) journal which is currently on its 14th edition and year of publication. Progressively,
    the conference has moved from being a Department of Business Administration (DBA) from
    where it borrows it name, to a Faculty of Business and Management Science (formerly,
    School of Business) conference and now a University of Nairobi (UoN) conference.
    Although the Conference has previously been an “in-person” session, the last four years has
    witnessed us holding this conference on a virual platform.

    The ultimate goal of the DBA-AMR Annual conferences is provide a platform evidencing
    that research is no longer a luxury but rather, a powerful tool that cuts across all facets of life
    be it in academia, government, corporates or the private sector. The 14 th Issue of the
    DBAAMR Journal as a way of expanding the reach of other scholars, practitioners and
    students that may have missed out in the conferences has provided a platform to share the
    “Book of Astracts” which circulates around the conference theme “Harnessing Business
    Research for Resilience and Sustainability of Communities”. Subsequently, we look
    forward to publishing the outstanding papers that will meet the journals requirement in the
    near future.
